WE ONLY USE HAND-SPLIT MAPLE FOR EVERY BAT!

SELECT GRADE MAPLE is our high grade hard maple. We do it old school too! All of the wood for our bats is selected from hand-split stock - the same way they did it in the old days. Why is this important? It's all about getting the straightest grain possible. Nowadays many wood providers use large saw equipment to saw lumber, producing high yields but also cutting across the face or tangential grain - this leads to poor slope of grain and breaking baseball bats. Hand-split, lumber naturally follows the tangential grain, strengthening the bat and  eliminating the chance of slope of grain failure. That's why each Pillbox bat is crafted from hand-split billets, creating consistantly stronger bats that are safer to use and longer lasting.

DROP WEIGHT & CUPPING

DROP WEIGHT INDICATES HOW MANY OUNCES LESS THEN THE LENGTH IS THE FINAL WEIGHT OF THE BAT. SO A 33in BAT WITH A WEIGHT OF 30oz WOULD BE A STANDARD DROP 3. WE ARE EXACTING IN OUR STANDARDS FOR DROP WEIGHT ON EACH PILLBOX BAT. CHOOSE FROM 0-5 DROP WEIGHT.

CUPPING IS DONE TO THE END OF THE BAT, IF YOU CHOOSE, TO CUT WEIGHT AND TO PRODUCE A MORE BALANCED BAT.

PILLBOX QUALITY PROMISE

We pride ourselves in making the highest quality of baseball bats crafted to the Pillbox standard of excellence. Every detail is scrutinized and every bat is inspected throughout the bat making process to ensure our bats are free of imperfections and/or defects that would affect performance or longevity. If you receive your bat and think that we didn't live up to that promise please contact us and we will make it right.

Wood bats break! It's just the nature of the game. Hitting a baseball at a very high speed can cause a bat to break for many reasons. For this reason we don't offer a warranty on any normal game use.

If you received bat that you think has an issue or your bat breaks at any time and you think that it was caused because of a flaw in the lumber or our manufacturing process please reach out. We'll make it right.
